Sporttracker is the brainchild of Louth's Peter Larkin, a former car salesman who believes he has the answer to a huge gap in the burgeoning GAA coaching market. We have a new line of statistics and analysis booklets which are being endorsed by none other than Down's All-Ireland winning manager Pete McGrath.
A former PRO of Cooley Kickhams, Larkin first designed a statistic booklet to keep his own club records up to date. However, he has since expanded the idea into a business and brought former International Rules boss McGrath on board as a technical advisor.
Sporttracker now produces a range of statistical and analysis booklets designed specifically for GAA coaches, and Larkin believes they are invaluable manuals for anyone involved in coaching at any level.
The books provide a template for individual and match analysis on your own team and opponents.
At the recent National Coaching Forum in Croke Park the company took a whopping 700 orders.
Leinster Schools GAA already use the product, and the range includes individual books (approximately 10 each) up to a special 140 'club package' which provides five match analysis booklets, seven managers' diaries, seven PRO booklets and coach and player analysis manuals.
Larkin is already researching a new hi-tech analysis system that would allow coaches to write their coaching notes and analysis directly onto a computerised notepad, like a clipboard.
But for the moment he is specialising on the statistics booklets which are available online or through Sporttracker at +353 (0)42 9324504.
