Speaker: Martin O'Neill
Martin O neill

Martin O’Neill is the current manager of English premier league side, Aston Villa. He is manager at Villa since 2006. From 1990 to 1995 he managed Wycombe Wanderers, then in 1995 he moved to Norwich city but left after a short time moving to Leicester city in 1995 until 2000. O’Neill is well known for the promotion of Leicester to the premiership and then leading them to league cup success. He then moved on to Celtic FC.

He spent 5 years as manager of the club. He brought the club to UEFA Cup victory in 2003. He also led the team to three Scottish Premier League titles. Due to personal reasons he had to leave the club in 2005. Eventually O’Neill returned to football in the 2006 season as Manager with Aston Villa.

Before he went into managing he was a keen footballer, beginning his career as a fooballer in Kilrea, County Derry. He began his professional career in 1971 with Distillery FC. Moving to Nottingham Forest martin stayed at this club for ten years until 1981. Moving from Nottingham Forest to Norwich City in 1981 he then joined Manchester City. He also had seasons with Norwich City again and Nott’s County.

Martin is praised for his football tactics and his ability to take a club from struggling to successful with some very strategic plans for both players and coaches. He is a very well respected manager in the sports industry. We are delighted to have Martin with us for our conference in July.
