Flanagan, a Waterford native is a former Irish sprint champion; with Waterford Athletics club Flanagan saw national and international success. Flanagan is also a lecturer at the Tralee Institute of Technology previous to this Flanagan spent 12 years teaching PE in the Presentation School in Waterford, and then Pat received his position teaching Exercise Physiology at the Institute of Technology Tralee.

Flanagan was the trainer of the Tralee IT team when they successfully won the Sigerson Cup, in February of 2009 Flanagan also spoke at a seminar held in the Institute. The Seminar was a coaching forum about Winning Formulas. Flanagan’s expertise is sought after by many club managers and trainers alike. He has had very successful workshops in the past on his training techniques.
