Jim Kilty is a high performance coach to many Irish athletes; he has been in the coaching business for years. He began his high performance coaching in 1970. He got his big break in 1988 when he was part of the 1988 Irish Olympic team on their journey in Seoul as the high performance coach. This was the beginning for Kilty as his athletes performed for the first time. The athletes who performed in athletics who were under the coaching of Kilty were TJ Kearns, Brendan Quinn and Ailish Smith.

He again accompanied the team to the Atlanta 1996 games, where his athlete David Matthews got to the semi final of the 800m. One of Kilty most famous clients is Derval O’Rourke, the champion Irish hurdler. The highlight of his time with Derval O’Rourke was her win at the world indoor champions in Moscow, 2006.

Jim has also had experience with national GAA teams and with this experience comes a lot of success for both the teams and Kilty. While Kilty was coach at Tipperary the team saw a very successful season of 2001. The team won the All Ireland Hurling Championships the National Hurling League and the Munster Championship 2001. He also worked with Wexford Football Club; he helped them win the Leinster championship in 2004 under his coaching.

These achievements for Kilty are all substantial wins for the athletes and the clubs that are coached by Jim. His expertise is extremely sought after in the sporting industry from the results his athletes achieve in their competitions.
